Mt Hotham

The Hotham lodge was built by members in the 1940’s when the building code mandated the use of stone in alpine buildings. It was also one of the first buildings on the mountain before lifts or a ski resort when access was literally by horse and cart.
The lodge has been renovated and extended a number of times, the most recent renovation being completed in 2009, adding additional living space, full length glass windows which look down the valley and double glazing.

What to Bring

Mount Hotham lodge operates on a communal system for to share the major cleaning and food preparation tasks. This is necessary to ensure smooth operation of the lodge during peak periods but may be relaxed at other times at the discretion of the Party Leader. Because the evening meal is shared by all, the club provides all food.

The Party Leader will initially allocate all lodge residents to a group and your co-operation in completing the allocated tasks is requested. Each group is allocated only one task per day. If you wish to swap tasks with somebody else who is in agreement, by all means do so. However the responsibility of the Party Leader does not extend to arranging this for you. Please remember that the Party Leader has volunteered for the role and is on holiday as well!
